Our planet is dying!

Our planet is dying!

Are you rolling your eyes? Do you think me too dramatic?

Please read the following;

1.2 billion people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water

By 2025, 3 billion people will suffer the effects of water shortages.

The impacts of the unbalanced eco-systems that resulted from the Human evolution are not limited to just Water shortage and Global warming. It extends to the extinction of some species and endangering some.

Mankind is responsible for the extinction of over 500 species. Most of them during this century.

There is over 5,000 endangered species, including species as popular as the Siberian tiger

By 2050 over half the global population, in rich as well as poor countries, is expected to face serious fresh water shortages.

Natural ecosystems are disappearing rapidly. If things continue as today, in twenty to thirty years most of the remaining tropical forests, a large part of mountain forests and most of the world’s wetlands will be gone or severely marred by pollution.

Air and water pollution are costing millions of lives each year – through acute infections or chronic health problems that lead to premature death. Soil pollution threatens ground water supplies and as such, can develop into a major cause of water pollution and health hazard.

Now think again!

Share with me my worries, and the unspoken worries of millions of others.

Our planet IS dying and we are watching.

Our societies are fighting for more prosperity, wealth, a better living… but if we keep on that way, soon there will be nothing to fight for!

Let me simplify; have you felt the heat this summer? Have you cooled yourself with excessive amounts of water? Well I’ve got news for you; it’s going to be hotter and hotter in the years to come; and sooner than we think, water is going to be more expensive than oil!

Throughout this section of my website you will find lots of tips to help protect the environment. I am not asking you to follow them all; honestly speaking it’s hard for me too.

All I’m asking is for each and every one of us to be aware.

Aware of the dangers.

Aware of the solutions.

Global warming is not science-fiction anymore, it’s reality.

So what can we do to slow down mother earth’s agony? A lot!

Awareness is the key and believe me, if each one of us behaves in a more environment-friendly way, we will make a difference.

It’s not an option, it’s a civic and even a religious duty; and it starts with small daily gestures that will make a difference.

This planet is a gift and we are spoiling it by irresponsible behaviors! Our generation will either save this planet for our children, or turn it into a living hell!

It’s your call.
